Internship Opportunity: Genome Sequencing of Rare Actinomycetota


Supervisor: Matin Nuhamunada, M.Sc., Ph.D.

In this internship, you will be working to generate high-quality genome sequence from our collection of rare Actinomycetota, a group of bacteria talented in making bioactive secondary metabolites.

Internship Tasks

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Cultivating bacterial strains in liquid media
  • DNA extraction
  • Library Preparation and Sequencing with the PromethION platform (ONT)
  • Genome assembly & annotation

  • Recent UGM graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Available to work on site
